Never coming again. Service was horrible. They got our order wrong and charged us double. Gave us attitude when it was pointed out. I have carne asada with gayo pinto alllll the time. This gayo pinto was dry. The carne lacked flavor. Queso frito looks like it sat out all day.

I normally don't like to give bad reviews because everyone can have an off day and frankly don't like to waste time with negativity but I was so underwhelmed by this experience that I felt compelled to share with Yelpers.
I have an event for work where we bring in food that is representative of the country where one was born, and I thought what's more Nicaraguan than gallo pinto, cabbage salad, and fried cheese. So I called this restaurant and placed an order for 20 people. Unfortunately what I ended up getting was food for only like 10 people. It's rice, beans, cabbage, and cheese, for goodness sake, what is the point of skimping customers on low cost items like these? Guess I'll have to stop somewhere else to pick additional food but I won't be back to this place that's for sure. -

La Hormiga was HORRIBLE!! My goodness from service (lack of). We stood and waited for a table to be ready, the waiter barely cleaned of the table with a rag throwing all crumbs on the floor and chairs we were about to sit on. Oh the chairs are falling apart. We ordered the carne asada with rice and plantains. We ordered one with fried plantains and one with sweet plantains. She brought both orders with fried plantains. We asked for the sweet and she actually charged it as a side order. I also order a mix they have of cantaloupe and OJ. Also disappointed I left the whole drink. It tasted like rotten cantaloupe with bad OJ. We ate the rice and very little meat because we were starving. Will never revisit. Visit Don Pepe next door which is always quality in both service and food.

Two stars why? Place is dingy and dark. The menu is medieval and crowded, you can hardly understand what is on it and what to choose... FYI: I did not not taste their food... stars are just for looks
